U.S., Arab nations strike ISIS in Syria; U.S. hits 2nd terror group- Joseph Katinas

President Obama plans to speak Tuesday morning about the U.S. strategy against ISIS, following overnight strikes in Syria, a White House official said. The president will speak at 10 a.m. Eastern Time at the White House before leaving for New York. The United States and several Arab nations dropped bombs on ISIS targets in Syria -- the first U.S. military offensive in the war-torn country and a forceful message to the militant group that the U.S. would not stand by idly while it carried out its rampage of terror. Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Qatar all assisted with the operation, the U.S. military said. The United States also took action, on its own, against another terrorist organization, the Khorasan Group, the military said. That group presented an "imminent" threat to the West, a senior U.S. official told CNN. Again I find articles like this sad as it is not peaceful, but I'm glad that we are taking action again ISIS and its allies in some way. http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/23/world/meast/isis-airstrikes/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

  1. This was such an abrupt move. I've been hearing about ISIS over the past few weeks, but until now, it hasn't been at the front of my mind. It's so easy to just block these stories from your mind even though we have great access to them. But this is definitely a big move and something that everyone should keep up with.

  2. People seem to keep rushing the president and look down on him since he hasn't really had a plan. Which is pretty absurd, since this is something new and different and scary.

  3. This was very quick action. I've heard about ISIS a lot and they're half the articles on here, but I haven't really seen the calamity of their actions and the direness of the situation. This seems to be getting worse and hopefully we can solve it soon before more loves are lost.

  4. We need to do something about Isis, but we should make the correct moves. It is wrong it just do something so quickly. Our country needs to think again. _Quentin Noble -2
