Pro-Democracy Protest in Hong Kong - Froy G 7th

In Hong Kong, uprisings have occurred in pursuit of a more democratically-run state. Largely students and young people, the Hong Kong citizens gathered on masses to protest recent constricting laws passed by the Chinese Gov. Ever since Hong Kong was given back to china by the British, there has been a large amount of friction with the city-state. Hopefully China learns to move in a more democratic direction in the future and takes with them the lesson that in today's world, individual freedom is highly valuable and needed to create a more progressive world. China has taken steps in the past, leaving their communist roots with free economic zones. Perhaps this will open the government's eyes to more personal liberty for their citizens.

  1. I guess we can also take it as a good sign that China is starting to allow more private businesses and is starting to practice more of a free market as well.

  2. Great story! Find a way to relate it to US History. Can and should the US get involved?
