Six People Dead in Car Accident by Destiny Ramirez 4th Period WEEK 1

Was Posted on Monday, September 1, 2014***

A fatal car accident occurred Sunday night leaving all six passengers dead. The 20-year-old driver lost control of the car when the back tire hit the curb, causing the car to cross over three lanes and slam right into a tree. Police reported that four of the people died at the scene and the other two died shortly after being taken to Baylor Hospital. We later founded out that three of the victims were students at Justin F. Kimball High School. Dallas ISD claims that are truly upset over the three deaths of their students. Lynn Payne, a woman driving down the same road that night, told police and NBC News channel 5 that she was driving behind the car when the driver crashed. Payne said, “. He was doing at least 100 miles per hour…’oh my god, if he don’t slow that car down something is going to happen.’”
I think what happened was awful. None of the people that died that night were even intoxicated, and the driver was less than a year away form turning 21. Those people and kids still had their whole lives ahead of them. I feel like that just wanted to have a little fun that night considering there was no work or school the next day, so they decided to play speed racers from one light to the next. There are a lot of ways you can hang out and have fun but that wasn’t/isn’t the way to do it.

  2. Only reason a person would be doing 100 mph would be for fun. Sad to know it got out of control and resulted horribly.

  4. This is so tragic. Everyday we hear about people that die due to speeding, and I wish this man wasn't speeding or else he could have avoided this awful fate. I hope this article will warn others to be aware when driving.
