"Thousand Oaks bar patrons scrambled in fear as Gunman killed 12"- Yesenia Ramirez 

Their was a recent Bar shooting in the Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks in California where a college event night was taking place for students 18 years and older on Wednesday the 11/07/18 .Their were many people having a god time when suddenly some people heard weird noises, but were not quite sure what it was. The guards at the entrance were shot and the police man named Ron Helus who was making a phone called to his wife entered the bar because of the gun shots and was killed when trying to save the students. During the event of many students trying to exit the bar due to the gunshots many people were hurt and injured and everyone started panicking not knowing where to go. So far many people don't know the real motive on why the US Marine Veteran named Ian David Long killed 12 people at the bar and injured many more and took his life afterwards, but some recent news said that he had suffered a trauma and might of had mental issues due to his experience in the military.

My view on this is that and also a way that it could have been prevented because man people knew that Ian had mental issues so he could have received help and also if he had mental issues why did he own weapons. This is relevant to history because during the time period of 1861-1865 during the Civil War many solders were traumatized. For example John Hildt had lost his limb and back then their wasn't any hospital technology which was a reason of why many people died and many were traumatized of what they saw in the hospital and during the war.
