Summary: Today ( Nov. 12, 2018), Stan Lee passed away in Los Angeles and so far, the cause of death is unknown. Stan Lee is arguably the most influential comic book writers of all times, he basically created most of the Marvel Cinematic Universe characters and more; Marvel wouldn’t be here today without him and is a major reason Marvel became as big, if not bigger than D.C (for many years in the mid 20th century D.C dominated comics.) He helped revolutionize the comic industry by writing his characters as flawed and more human like unlike D.C. Most of the earlier Marvel T.V shows varied on success, but movies like X-men and Spider-Man (2002) kicked off marvels televising career and lead to Disney buying Marvel.
Analysis: I, like most people, am very shocked and sad to hear this news- he was an icon and huge inspiration to all. His work created an empire that I have watched/read ever since the first Iron Man movie. I first found out that he died because of marvel actors on social media posting that he passed. We can relate this to past years because many famous actors have passed; the most notable ones I remember was two years ago when Carrie Fisher passed. I’m not quite sure how I can relate this event to APUSH. RIP Stan Lee.
