Trump is denying using tear gas on child migrants and adults even though there are pictures and video of them screaming and running away from a cloud of tear gas. He denied this when asked in an interview if it was OK to tear gas children where he only said that they did not. It’s said that they begun with a peaceful march which later evolved into them breaking through the borders on Sunday. Border Commissioner McAleenan said they were assaulting them and that they felt it was necessary to use “less lethal devices” which would be the tear gas and “other projectiles” which he didn’t mention were rubber bullets. He also said four agents were hit with rocks, but because of their gear they weren’t seriously injured.
I think Trump’s making a mistake of denying using tear gas on the child migrants if there’s evidence against that statement. I can understand both perspectives of this situation, but I think that tear gassing the family and children was unnecessary force as well as shooting them with rubber bullets because according to other articles and sources I’ve read, the children were choking and suffering because of it.
