"Democrat Kyrsten Sinema wins Arizona US Senate seat" --Youssef Bakr

Kyrsten Sinema, a democrat, came out on top in the struggle against Martha McSally to replace GOP Senator Jeff Flake in Congress. After a long and hard-fought battle, Flake congratulated Sinema on her win. On twitter, he said, "Congrats to @kyrstensinema on a race well run, and won. It's been a wonderful honor representing Arizona in the Senate. You'll be great."

This peaceful transition of power from one person to another with differing opinions strikes a resemblance to the election of 1800, in which the Democratic-Republican Thomas Jefferson defeated John Adams, a federalist. Never in history had one force peacefully conceded power to another with opposing views.
