Summary:
According to a new UN study woman are far more likely to die in the hands someone they know which is almost always a family member. While the majority of intentional homicide victims are male and killed by strangers, woman are far more likely to die at hands of someone they know.People believe that woman still to this day continue to pay the biggest price as result of gender inequality, discrimination, and negative stereotypes.People have even begun a #AsEquals because they believe men and woman should have the same rights and live just as long.Globally Asia was the region with the highest number of woman killed by partners or family members, followed by Africa, America, Europe, and Oceania.
Analysis:
I kinda find this sad because you would think our family member are the ones that love us the most and want to protect us yet there are so many family members out there killing someone from their family which is the opposite of what a family should be like. This just comes to show that yes our family is our family and we have to love them and get a long but you can't always trust them just because their "family". This also shows that unexpected things happen all the time.
I agree that the family is supposed to protect and take care on another and it sucks that we cant even trust them.
ReplyDeleteThis breaks my heart for the women who have passed because of this and makes me scared for my own life. This is not okay in any shape or form.
ReplyDeletePeople who say that gender inequality doesn't exist really needs to look at the facts and rethink their stance. It's so sad that many domestic abuse cases don't even get reported on or headlined unless they feature high-profile people.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of problems with this article, but quite frankly, I don't feel like addressing all of them, so I'll just do one of the more annoying statements: "People have even begun a #AsEquals because they believe men and women should... live just as long." This isn't true. Women actually live longer than men, so the solution to the inequality of lifespan would entail the mass genocide of women.
ReplyDeleteI should correct: the quote should say 'woman' not 'women' because that is what you typed.
