The Camp Fire in Butte County, California, has killed 85 people and has destroyed 14,000 structures. Fortunately, this wildfire has been contained after the fire drove through 153,000 acres of land. Although the fire has been contained, there is still more to be done. Thousands of people are currently in shelters, hotels, or are camping in below freezing temperatures. 249 citizens are still unaccounted for so the death toll is expected to rise. As for the current status of the recovery process, crews are working to repair power lines and clear roads. According to ABC news reports, Alex Azar of the U.S. Health and Human Services, has declared a public health emergency in California because 2 hospitals and 8 health facilities had to be evacuated due to wildfires. The recovery process is slow, but it's taking place and officials are working hard to speed up the process.

This article was published by Cleve R. Wootson Jr. on November 25, 2018 and was updated at 1:40 PM ET. This confirms that the information provided in this article is accurate. This article was directed towards the public to reveal the status on the wildfire and also to the citizens of Butte County to give them an update on how the recovery process is going. Similarly, this wildfire relates to the Carr Fire that started on July 23, 2018 and destroyed about 1,604 buildings. That fire also cost more than $1 billion in repair. This article relates to U.S history because it's an example of a disaster that has resulted in a significant effect on the state of California. America has dealt with may disasters from hurricanes on the Atlantic coast to wildfires in California and we will recover like this, like we have done in the past.
