Summary:
A 17 year old girl was at a club in Ireland and she got dragged out by a 27 year old man then had sex with him as she was telling him to stop. The 27 year old had a different story of the night. That they kissed and had sex in the mud. They went to court and the only thing the man had against the woman was her lace thong. His attorney said she was asking for it. There was a jury of 8 men and 4 women and the defendant was found "not guilty".
Analysis:
This is disgusting. I heard about this earlier today and I was wondering what ended up happening, so I looked this up and he was found NOT GUILTY. I do not understand how anyone could not see that as a sick argument. Imagine being that girl. Getting told that her outfit that felt confident in was rapable or asking for it. I cannot believe that anyone would pin that against someone. Almost every trial that gets sent to court gets asked the question of "what were you wearing?". I do not understand why this question is ever popped up. An answer from this question will never make sense for the action of rape. If anyone thinks otherwise, just imagine being that girl for a second. She was just wearing something she felt confident in and it is now pinned to something she could not control and will probably eat away with her for years to come. Her body was used as a object and her clothes were a reason behind this insanity. I do not think I could ever see his side of this trial.
