There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor. Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!
- Tweet from Donald Trump
A minimum of 25 people have died, over 100 are missing, and a quarter of a million people have been evacuated due to the California wildfires. Trump blaming the people trying to stop these disasters and threatening to remove federal funding is cause for concern. Over the weekend, more tweets have been confusing, saying how much he supports the responders helping put out fires, but also how dumb forest management has been. He is making false claims like that they are paying "hundreds or millions of dollars" on stopping the wild fires. It is also known that climate change is what is causing the fires to be so catastrophic, yet Trump would never admit that.
The situation in California makes it clear, to me, what Donald Trump's ideals are. He is much more worried about the financial situation of the nation, then the people losing their homes and even their lives in California. It also shows how politically divided we are. One assumption as to why Trump has been so against helping with the fires is because the governor of California is currently democratic.
Times like this are when we should come together as a nation, not place blame and attack others.
