Cathy Huynh - Illinois officer responding to gunfire fatally shoots security guard

Summary: Authorities say a police officer who was responding to a shooting at a suburban Chicago bar fatally shot an armed security guard who was working there. The Cook Country sheriff's office says officers responded a little after 4 a.m. Sunday from a call of shots fired at Manny's Blue Room in Robbins. The shot man was later identified as 26-year-old security guard Jemel Roberson. The officer shot Roberson despite people "screaming" that he was a security guard. Witnesses say Roberson was holding down the gunman responsible for the initial shooting, when the officer shot him. 4 other people had gunshot wounds, but their injuries weren't considered life-threatening. 1 of them is believed to have fired shots during the shooting before police arrived. The suspected gunman remains hospitalized and charges against him are pending.

Analysis: This article was posted today, so all the information given is what has been disclosed up to this point, as the officer's name and initial shooter's name haven't been released. I did not know about this event because it's been shadowed by other major news and Illinois isn't where we live. I can connect this article to John Brown's raid on Harpers Ferry, Virginia, because John Brown had a good intention for abolitionism, but the raid killed an innocent Black that wasn't apart of the plan, how this article's officer had good intentions of saving the bar but killed an innocent security guard. This article was written towards Illinoisans and friends and family of Roberson. There is no specified author which is very strange? Anyways, this article was written, because it yet another event of an officer shooting an innocent soul. This article is important, because it may be another example of racial profiling, I say maybe because the police officer's name and picture weren't revealed and it's understandable to immediately think the visibly armed guy is very suspicious, but the witnesses did yell that he was a security guard, so in conclusion, I don't know.
