With the deadline creeping up on Thursday, Florida is scrambling to get in some of the last ballots and lost information from this years midterm election. This has been going on for a while but lately things have intensified. Over 9 law suits have been formed over this situation and over who is trying to control it. Until this mess gets sorted out Gov. Rick Scott will travel to Washington to take part in the activites designed for newly elected senators. President Trump has also got involved by tweeting that he thinks that " an honest vote count is no longer possible" and that "the Florida Election should be called in favor of Rick Scott and Ron DeSaints in that large numbers of new ballots showed up out of nowhere, and many ballots are missing or forged".
This article was written on November 12 by Amy Gardner, Felicia Sonmez, and Sean Sullivan. The article provides other peoples statements with mainly facts and very little to no opinion. I found this article to be interesting mainly because while watching the election on November 6th the scores were neck and neck and these ballots might just be able to put democrat Sen. Bill Nelson to win. I also found the story interesting because once again we have found Trump stating an argument that he cannot back up with facts. I am very interested to see how this situation will play out. This specific incident reminds me of when people have gone back and discovered new things that have effected the future. for instance when the discovery of the first human pointed to the fact that climate change effected the transition from tree dweller to an upright walker, something natural or something we couldn't have done effected our future livelihood.

I think it is crazy that a senate race can come within half of a percent margin in this day. Very well written article overall.
ReplyDeleteI agree this article is very interesting and I hope that they can quickly determine whether or not any ballots were forged or missing. Hopefully this is not the case and the correct candidate will be called the winner after a fair vote count.
