California Fire- Gracie Zytynski

On Thursday, November 8,  a deadly wildfire in California took place and resulted in the death of 23 people. It had burned 100,000 acres of land in Paradise, California and burned over 6,700 homes and buildings. y Sunday night, the fire had matched the deadliest in California history. Also, farther south in Los Angeles, another fire was caused destruction.
This article written by Jack Nicas apart of the New York Times on November 11, informed all about the deadly fire. Prior to reading this, I knew about the many fires that happen in California each year, but I did not know how destructive the can get. In October 2017 a wild fire in Sonoma, California took place burning 60,000 acres. Both these fires caused the deaths of many. This article is important because it helps inform Americans of deadly fires that occur in our country and the ways we can help prevent fires. In all, it is important that we understand the ways we can cause danger to our environment.
