Armed militia groups, including one from Texas, head to the U.S.- Mexico border- Yesenia Ramirez
The president of the United States recently has sent the U.S. military to monitor the frontier due to the caravan that started in Guatemala. This caravan gradually went increasing the more they headed upwards to the north which caused our president to act. Many Mexican citizens are know aware of this issue and that they are being monitored and some people are know living in fear due that the military may act against them. Also the Minuteman Project which is one of the militia groups that monitors the frontier has announced that people are allowed to camp near the border and will be provided with some sort of aid for the next 90 days.
This article was published by Sarah Sarder on the 11/4/18 and it was written in order to inform citizens about the current issue of the caravan and what has recently occurred. My thought over this article was that i do get the purpose of why the president has sent the military to monitor the frontier because we don't want their to be a chaos of people getting hurt went trying to cross over. But i also don't like the idea that know people who live near their live with fear and that the military might be willing to shoot at mothers and kids who attempt crossing. Another thing is that i do like the idea of organizations are helping people need at no cost. This event refers back to U.S. History in the fact that a similar event occurred to this in the 1910 called the "Border War". This occurred in between the borders of the U.S. and mexico on where the United States Army fought Mexican rebels and federals during the time period of the Mexican Revolution.
