Joaquin Sanchez-Trump's attacks on Amazon are working

President Trump has accused Amazon of taking advantage of the U.S. Postal Service multiple times now. He has suggested Amazon does not pay their taxes fairly. Trump has said he dislikes Jeff Bezos who is the CEO of Amazon. Trump thinks that Jeff is using his other company that own, The Washington Post, to spread how great Amazon is and to promote the public to use Amazon.

Amazon has since lost 7% in the last week. Trump has tweeted about Amazon 4 times. Amazon's stock is "driving the boarder market down", and Nasdaq dropped 2.7% Monday. This is an example of the president using the media for his own personal benefit and persuading his followers. This kinda reminds me of when Theodore Roosevelt attacked big businesses in the early 20th century.

  1. It’s sad that the person who’s supposed to suppport Americans the most is hurting a company, therefore hurting everyone connected to it in any way. If he’s so bothered then he can actually do something to fix the issue.

  2. It's sad to think that our "American" president is attacking an American company that has grown internationally. He is inappropriately spending too much time on the Internet then actually upholding his duty as President of the United States of America. Seriously, what is he not doing when he spends his time on social media? Lots of things, like learning how to respect foreign alliances that greater men like Franklin Roosevelt and Harry S Truman have created like NATO and the UN, actually improving the US economy, etc. Although the things I just listed aren't probably ever going to happen, they are just examples of things he could be doing instead of being on social media almost all the time.

  3. The irony here being that Trump and taxes have such a rocky history together that he has bragged on the campaign trail about his dodging taxes and to this day refuses to release his tax returns for a host of possible reasons (one of which is that it may prove just how little he truly pays in tax)
