On Monday, news came out the former president George H.W. Bush has been hospitalized for an infection. This arose shortly after the funeral for Bush's wife, Barbara Bush.
On Sunday, Barbara Bush's funeral was held and many former presidents came to grieve and show their support, The Obamas, the Clintons, the Bush's (both of course) and Melania Trump went on behalf of the current White House. Barbara and her husband George had the longest presidential marriage, 73 years.
Bush is in a wheelchair and mobile scooter after developing Parkinson's disease which also makes it easier to contract infections. Dr. David Reuben, professor of geriatric medicine at the UCLA medical school in Los Angeles, said "the stress of losing a loved one can weaken the immune system," as well as Bush's crippling health. About a year ago Bush was in the hospital for pneumonia and chronic bronchitis, symptoms of age.

It was sad to hear the news of Barbara's passing and even-though I personally only watched snippets of the funeral ceremony, from what I saw it was very sweet and sentimental. Hearing now the George is sick, it seemed inevitable. The passing of the love of his life would cause more than emotional pain.
This article is related to the presidency of George H.W. Bush and the contributions that First Lady Barbara Bush made to society. Her main campaign was to help improve child literacy and worked tirelessly to help. the Bush's were the 41st family in the White House.
I always find it interesting that couples who have been married a long time often pass away at the same time.
