Trump wants sex ed to be abstinence only- Peyton Gatewood

article

If you cut out of work early for the weekend, you missed this: the Trump administration announced an abstinence-focused overhaul of the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program, an initiative created by former President Obama that funded projects and organizations working to cut teen pregnancy rates.
But while the Obama administration focused on comprehensive sex education, which can include a focus on contraception and abstinence, the Trump administration will gear millions in federal funds to organizations that teach teens how to avoid or delay sexual activity.
My hot take: This is so incredibly dumb! Aaa! Another example of Trump being anti- anything Obama did, even if it seems to work. Studies in 2007, under the Obama Administration, concluded that abstinence only sex-ed DOES NOT WORK!  It feels like were taking a huge step back to the 50's when it comes to reproductive rights. I can guarantee you Trump has had sex out of marriage, via porn star Stormy Daniels, so what does he really want? Not abstinence, no, this is not a gender inclusive program (Not really, at least) this is to keep women on a leash.

  1. I agree, I think this program is so dumb; creating a program that's basically just advising teens not to have sex won't change anything.

  3. This is just dumb... Sex ed is gonna' be filled with a bunch of laughter because half the kids would've already had sex. I don't see what it'll achieve besides not uneducating kids on sex and missing the whole point of the class. Plus, wasn't Trump in a porn film?

  4. Your analysis of this issue is very well thought out. I wish politicians would take a look at what ACTUALLY works and start implementing that. The facts show that teaching sex ed lowers teen pregnancy rates!

    1. There is not one logical reason to not teach safe sex

  5. Having people tell teens to not have sex is not going to work. There are always going to be teen that are interested and that are going to have sex. There is no stopping that. However, educating teens about how to safely have sex will make a difference. This new absitinence only sex is not going to work.
