Toronto Van Takes the Lives of 10 Pedestrians || Chloe Villa-Abrille || 4-23-18

What was to be a normal day in Toronto was now a day to remembered in a place that seemingly safe. Alek Minassian is the suspected driver who drove a white rental van straight into a crowd of pedestrians, costing the lives of 10 and injuring 15 in his mile long rampage. 1:30 p.m. alerted police to drive them to the scene, a vehicle driving on Yonge Street on Finch Avenue was reported to purposely targeting people on the pathway and that this isn't a case of an accident. John Tory the Mayor of the city seems to be stepping in as he tries to up security and create a response fit for the tragic actions of the case. People caught in the wake of this attack report the utter chaos, one minute it was calm, the next led to a tragic scene that would never truly leave those that witnessed it.

This world is a violent world, it's horrible that innocent people get caught into the pain of those that wish to harm others. One problem is that most can learn how to drive a car, but very rarely are those people checked in on to make sure that when they get into a car, or when they hold any power over another life, that they will not make a bad choice and not hurt others. This is another thing that should be dealt with as the number of them are rising, June 2017 brought the London Bridge attack, where a ramming and stabbing happened, I remember having to hear about it on the news. 2016, Berlin attack in Germany, there was a truck shooter and a ramming resulting in the death of 12, also the 2016 Nice attack, France where 87 people were horribly killed by ramming and gun fire. I've had to live through hearing the news about this, once every year or more it seems like this happens. We're in a changing society, maybe we need more help for those that need mental help and a safer society to prevent great pains like these?
