A teenager’s car was hit by a train in Milwaukee. The teenager disregarded the train signals, and dangerously tried crossing the tracks before the train arrived. The teen’s vehicle spun after being hit, but luckily he/she survived and is resting in the hospital. The injuries have not been released yet.
This event reminds me of the youth culture of the 50s through the 70s. Teenagers were rebelling against traditional values and began to take more of their own actions rather than constantly obeying adults. They found comfort in drugs and alcohol and in other negative ways. The teenager in this particular event chose to disobey the rules and took their own drastic action much like teenagers started doing decades ago.
This is a very good connection to the 5os through the 70s.
ReplyDeletei agree very clever
Deletewith all the technological and scientific advancements we made with drug and alc awareness, one would've hoped that if the teen was under any influence that more preventative issues would've been taken than the same situation in the 50's
ReplyDeleteTeenagers are regarded as the same when driving, meaning that they are treated with the same expectations as any other adult, but is necessary to remember that when driving, childish impatience can take a role in situations.
