North Texas School Walkouts | Mica Stout

On the anniversary of the Columbine shooting in 1999, April 20, schools all across North Texas created walkouts, and ways to be heard. Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts had speakers, dancers, music students, and visual arts express their own way of protest through their art form. Because guns are a huge problem in todays world, the U.S. needs voices other that adults and politicians to speak up. The younger generation is the future, so we should get a say in out history.

Gun regulation is a problem that has been controversial for a while. Many people think the common population should have the right to own a gun for safety reasons, others believe that there should be little to no possession at all. The future is now, and we need to find a solution to this mixed opinion.

  1. I heard the walk out was a huge success but I didn't go because I honestly don't believe that a protest is going to change anything. I do believe in gun violence but I don't think we have a big enough voice to stop anything.

  2. I love how we can all unite towards a common goal. It is up to us to make change in this world and this is only the beginning of our journey.
