Canadian man lynched- Melanie Escalante

Sebastian Woodroffe, the man suspected of murdering an indigenous woman, was lynched by Peruvians in Ucayali. A video recorded him being dragged by two other men but officials are working on finding out who else was involved. Woodroffe had been a patient of the woman, Olivia Arevalo, and many believed he killed her for reasons involving debt, her unwillingness to perform a ritual, and her protection over her land. However, there is no strong evidence in her murder case that has yet been found.
Small communities like this tend to rely heavily on one another as if bound by blood. I don’t think these men would’ve killed Woodroffe if he didn’t do anything. It’s like the Native Americans having eachothers back when the Anglo settlers were populating their land. The way the natives and anglos battled one another is similar to how these two opposing forces have treated eachother. Of course it isn’t okay to murder through revenge or kill in general but it seems to me that these men really believed Woodroffe deserved this treatment, which makes me curious as to what the truth is behind this confusion.  I’m hoping that the issue doesn’t escalate any further and the families of both can mourn peacefully.
