How floating architecture could help save cities from rising seas

Coastal cities around the world are at risk from rising sea levels and unpredictable storms. Architects havfe been trying their best to come up with a solution to this problem. This problem has inspired floating houses. These buildings/houses float on water. Some of these buildings/houses are being built to float in case of an emergency. If there is a flood, these buildings act as a float, and will not sink. This is a really cool advancement, and I would like to learn more about how these houses function and how costal cities could possibly look in the future.
