5-year-old caught in gang crossfire- Sanaya gangal

Summary:
A five-year-old, now recovering in the hospital, was shot in the ankle due to being “caught in a crossfire when somebody started shooting.” The neighbor of the victim stated “It’s not surprising to hear gunshots but to hear that a child was shot, is heartbreaking and terryfiying at the same time”.

Analysis:
The statement that the neighbor made really bugged me because the fact that some places have come to terms with random shootings is concerning. Shootings shouldn’t be something that people nonchalantly claim is normal. A five year old was shot! How is this not alarming to most people?? I hate the damage that guns do and I believe there should be stronger gun laws to prevent things like this from happening.

  1. To use a gun is simply selfish. You are obviously putting others in danger and it’s sad how a child was affected.

  2. Gun violence is everywhere, just because it isn't directly in your backyard doesn't it isn't in someone else's.

  3. Hearing that sound in your neighborhood should be terrifying... recently at WTW high school there was a gang fight and a gun was drawn which luckily no shots were fired, but it’s not safe to be stuck in such situation.
