Black men arrested at Philadelphia Starbucks - Chloe Walker
At a local Jackson Philadelphia Starbucks two black men were arrested for sitting in the store without placing an order. The men were simply waiting for another men to arrive. The store manager has since then apologized for his "unconscious bias" for calling the police, since news of the arrest went viral. There has been backlash and protest against the company.
This article was created by Chris Isidore from CNN on April 16. I had previous knowledge of this article. I had first heard of this article from social media. This affects my knowledge of the article because I know more of the details that had happened. This article was meant to inform people on an incident that had racial discrimination and to inform people that racial discrimination is everywhere. Which is one of the main importances of this article. This article relates to sit-ins during the civil rights movement where black college students were arrested because they were sitting at lunch counters.
