Maria Golici - Halloween warnings

Halloween is around the corner and even though the night is always imagined as a blast there are a few things you should keep in mind before heading out to the trick or treat fun. Halloween is the second biggest commercialized holiday for the year so your nicely decorated house is a perfect target. The count crime for Halloween is 50% higher then it is any time around the year. So here are some tips to stay and keep your belongs and yourself safe. Always have your house look preoccupied so if you have to leave the lights on or the tv running while you are out this can prevent to the risk of a break in. If you can try to park your car in a garage because there is a high risk if your car is parked on the street it could get egged, dented or scratched. Lastly, all things that can be rolled away or picked up and thrown probably should be put away for the night.

I don't think Halloween is fun anymore because of the constant fears brought upon by the people who don't think about their actions. As a big sister, I don't find it funny or amusing scaring little kids or egging cars or even teepeeing houses. Halloween needs to brought back to the fun holiday it used to where all kids could think about for weeks is bags full of candy and their pirate or princess costumes

  1. Halloween used to be a place of fun, with lighthearted scary movies and costumes where kids can get candy. It’s crazy how a fun holiday can be changed for the worse in a short amount of time. -Emma Hancock

  2. I agree that the fun has been taken out of Halloween like the candy and costumes and now it’s to the point where it’s not even safe.

  3. I agree, how are we supposed to enjoy a holiday when there is constant fear of something bad happening.

  4. I think it’s terrible that we have all these fears and warnings before every holiday. When our parents were kids, they never had anything to worry about, and it just reminds me how much things have really changed. - Joziah German
