Jordyn Chapman-China Tells Trump that Climate Change is No Hoax it Invented

Summary: As the election of Donald Trump occurred, many people are concerned with what he'll do as he's in office. Some concerns, revolve around the issue of climate change. Eric Roston presents that the ideals of republicans (and Donald Trump) on climate change come closest to that of disregarding the thought of climate change. In 2012, Donald Trump tweeted global warming was a concept that “was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.” China’s envoy rejected that view, stating “If you look at the history of climate change negotiations, actually it was initiated by the IPCC with the support of the Republicans during the Reagan and senior Bush administration during the late 1980s,” Liu told reporters during an hour-long briefing." With Reagan's legacy, George Schulz, became a prominent republican voice urging action, giving hope that the administration would go on to support the process.
Analysis: Jessica Shankleman wrote this article on November 16, 2016 just two days prior to the election. It covered the issue of how real climate change was, and the concerns on the action trump will take to ensure it is handled. It was written to give people a more full sense on the origins of climate change and is important because it's making it seen as more of a real problem.
Synthesis- This article connects to the origin of the idea that the Earth was warming up during the industrial revolution. In 1859, Tyndall discovered different gases that when concentrated, could potentially bring on climate change and later, calculations of global warming were created from CO2 emissions.

  1. It's good that the Chinese government has provided proof against Trump's claim that climate change is a "hoax".

  2. Global warming is an issue that many want to "deny" claiming "People don't have such an extreme effect on nature and preservations." Yes, I am a Christian but I'm also aware of my surroundings and can see when the world is changing for the worse.
