Jay'La Sims - A Baylor student was shoved and called the n-word. This is how the school responded

SUMMARY: Natasha Nkhama a Baylor University was threatened the morning after Trumps presidency. “He sort of shoved me off the sidewalk and he said . . . ‘no n—–s allowed on the sidewalk,'” Nkhama recounted on social media. “And I was just shocked.”
The blond student who used the racial slur called out a line from Trump’s campaign slogan, Nkhama said, declaring: “I’m just trying to make America great again.” She grew up in Dallas where Hillary Clinton won but the states 38 electoral votes went to Trump. As a protest 300 people people gathered to walk her to class using the hashtag #iwalkwithNatasha.

ANALYSIS: The fact that crimes like this still occur in 2016 scare me. The people that use this word and support this ignorance need to stop. What's scarier is that since we now have a president that has made it seem like it's fine to say these racist things people do it. Since Election Day, there have been scattered reports of intimidation or even physical attacks on Muslims, Hispanics and blacks. I'm so glad that there are people who use their voices to fight back and won't stand with racist people. It's so sad that people are threatened like this everyday but it is now increased because of ignorant supporters. All I can say is to stay safe and to fight back. This can connect to the foundation of racism in the south and the civil rights movement.

  1. It's great that the people reacted in protest to such ignorance. It shows that racist comments of one doesn't mean that everyone feels that way.

  2. We really did take many steps back as a nation, but hopefully with the new year our resolutions will be to continue on stronger than before.

  3. This just goes to show that at the act of ignorance those with a good moral grounding will join together to stand as an example.
