Elijah Thomas - Dylann Roof is competent to stand trial.
Roof is accused of nine people being killed at mother Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston South Carolina in June 2015. The judge halted jury selection so dylann roof to get a competency evaluation. According to the article faces 33 federal charges: 9 counts of violating that hate crime act resulting in death, three counts of violating the hate crime act resulting in the attempt to kill, 9 counts of obstruction of exercise of religion involved in the use of a dangerous weapon and attempting to kill, and 9 counts on the use of firearm to commit murder. Roof also faces 9 charges of murder and other charges in the state court system. His trial begins in January and if convicted, he will get to death penalty.
