CNN put out an article on September 12, 2016 stating that President Obama will veto the bill that allows 9/11 victims to sue Saudi Arabia. News of Obama's plans to veto were first known about in May, when the bill first passed the senate. The author of this article is Allie Malloy, a White House video produces that travels and reports on Barak Obama. Malloy is not bias what so ever in this piece, there is simply just facts and statements. The meaning of the article can potentially be altered due to its date because it was released the day after the 9/11 anniversary, leaving the horrific event fresh on peoples minds. Prior to this article I had not heard of the bill trying to be put in place so this is the first time I am hearing of this situation at the White House. The article was written to let the general public know what Obama's view points on the bill are and to simply update the people on the current status of the bill. It relates to United States history obviously because of 9/11 being such a historic event but also it shows some of the polices that were established in the past in government and how they are still in effect today.
