After an overnight man hunt, police have finally arrested a suspect in the recent shooting at the Cascade Mall in Burlington, Washington. This shooting took place Friday night, when a shooter killed five people with a rifle. The shooter disappeared soon after, causing a widespread search for the suspect. This new suspect, a 20-year-old named Arcan Cetin, was tracked down, and cooperated with the authorities when put into custody. Authorities state that there is not enough evidence yet to tie this attack to terrorism.
Almost every time I search for a current event to write on for my blog, there is some news of yet another shooting, another horrible event where lives are taken. This makes me feel like we are never truly safe from violence, and that we have hardly anyone to trust with our safety. There have been far too many violent occurrences, and it needs to stop. Hopefully someday we will be able to stop it.
