Tulsa Police Officer Charged with Manslaughter:

A police officer from Tulsa, Betty Shelby, is being blamed for the slaughter of 40 year old man, Terrence Crutcher. His SUV had stopped in the middle of the road. Reports say that witnesses and other police officers had seen him running from his car saying it was about to explode. Further investigation showed that there was indeed no weapon in his car. Through her attorney, Shelby says she pulled to the side of the road to see what was going on, and then she observed that Terrence Crutcher was acting strange and not obeying her commands, she proclaims that she thought he was reaching for a weapon of some sort. The police officer made him put his hands above his head while one officer fired a taser at him, and another, Betty Shelby, shot and killed him. Justice is being served now towards the police officer who murdered this unarmed man.

synthesis:

I think that it is horrible that Terrence Crutcher was harassed and shot for no reason. He may have been drinking before this incident, which could explain his strange and rude behavior towards the police officers' orders. Or he may have just been stubborn. However, I am relieved and glad that Shelby is being punished for shooting a man who was unarmed. Police brutality needs to stop because the officers who aren't nice towards people create a mask for the entire department. Most of the police officers are not killers, but the few who are need to be stopped. I don't know how because we don't know which ones are "unstable", but I really hope that the department and the government figure it out as to prevent further murders.

  1. I am very satisfied to know that this officer was persecuted for what he has done. It is very depressing to know that our country lost such a young man, but justice is finally being served to our nation's everlasting racial discrimination problem.

  2. I agree with you two, I am glad that something is being done to punish this bad who did bad but either way, if he was under an influence or not, it is not okay to act like that.

  3. I agree with you all. I am so happy he was punished who did such a horrible action. I hope this will spread awareness to all police officers. If he was drinking, he still should have known better.

  4. I feel that the officers motives were not towards the killing of the man, but more on the safety of the people around. There is a lot more to consider than just the fact that he had been shot and killed. The women may not have meant to kill him, or even his body language may have suggested violence in which she sought to defend herself. Or she was completely in the wrong and that man did not deserve to die.
