"Woman Fired From McDonald's After Feeding Fire Fighters" Tyra Harris, 5th period

http://www.myfoxdfw.com/story/24774199/fired-from-mcdonalds

Summary: Former manager of a McDonald's restaurant in Queens, NY, Heather Levia, claims she was fired because she paid for firefighters meals. The firefighters had just put a house fire in sub-zero temperatures. Levia asked the company to pay for their breakfast and was turned down, so she purchased the meals with her own money. Subsequently, she was let go from her job. The company denies this reason for her firing, but rather because she swore at a supervisor.

Analysis: It's sad to know that people are being punished for doing good deeds. However, cursing at a fellow employee is grounds for a firing, if in fact, she did so. I'm sure the firefighters appreciates her kind service. Since her firing from McDonald's, Levia has received several other job offerings that would assist her in paying for nursing school. When one closes, another one opens.
