Daviah Harrison-Death toll rises to 23 in California's Camp Fire

This article is by Nicole Chavez,Dakin Andone and Steve Almasy on November 10,2018. This article  is informing us that 23 people have lost their lives due to the fires in California while 10 victims were recovered. Most parts in California have not seen rain for more than a month and the dry vegetation plus high winds will fuel the fires.

This article relates to the deadliest fire in American history, which is the Peshtigo fire. This fire was in 1871 in Peshtigo,Wisconsin with estimated deaths of around 1,500 to 2,500 people. The California fires are not as deadly and I hope it stays that way. This is truly devastating and a very scary event for many people. I hope that things clear up soon so people can be safe and get back to living their life.

  1. I also read and wrote about this same topic, and I agree. While places like California are known for having wildfires, the state has had an increased amount recently. This is devastating, and I hope we are able to find more ways to reduce the risk of these fires starting and spreading. Lily Philips

  2. I think it’s awful what is happening right now in California. I wrote about the same topic, and I hope no more people will be getting injured from this. I hope some outside help will make this matter better. - Joziah german
