California camp fires - Sloan Daley

California has been having extreme wild fires for what seems like quite a while now, but this is the most extreme they have been yet. What is a large camp fire in Northern California, is destructing 80 to 90% of the homes in one town. As of Friday, it has left at least nine people dead. So far, 35 people have been reported missing in the camp fire. With only 10 to 20% of home being left, the fires are rapidly spreading and leaving nothing but devastation behind.

This devastation is sadly something California has seen many times before. These fires have been reoccurring for the past 18 years. This fire is so extreme, it is very similar to other natural disasters. This fires reminds me of the hurricanes that happened earlier this year. I say this because it starts and people don’t expect the destruction that is coming, until it hits their town. The effects these disasters are having on people’s lives and homes are heartbreaking. Hopefully, these fires come to an end very soon.

  1. It is so devastating what is happening to the communities in California due to this raging fire. I am not surprised to see wildfires ravaging the California forests in June or July, but a fire of this scale in November seems out of place to me. Maybe, the way things are going, this will become a normality.
