Summary- In this article it explains how Trump is low numbers with the Catholic vote, much more than Republicans have in the past. This has to do with the Pope saying that Donald Trump is unchristian for building walls instead of bridges. Trump has said many racist things towards immigrants, such as there all rapists. While Pope Francis stated we were all once immigrants. This argument has caused the once swing vote of the Catholics to not be in favor for Trump. This could call the election for him.
Analysis/Synthesis- I think this article was very interesting. It just shows that a true christian wouldn't be doing and saying the things Donald Trump is. There is a bit of bias towards Hilary Clinton in this article because of its negativity towards Trump. The significance of the statistics show how Trump's words effect the voters. This could be related to the Protestant Reformation when England was prejudice towards Catholics. This is the same attitude Trump has towards immigrants. A quote from this article that supports this connection is: "Part of Catholics' DNA is a appreciation for how Irish and other immigrants toiled and thrived in the shadow of a suspicious, fiercely anti- catholic culture dominated by white Anglo-Saxton Protestants. " Everyone who came to America was an immigrant so no one should be pre judged or stereotyped. America is a melting pot meant for all people.
