On August 29, 2016 CNN released an article touching on the issues of black lives matter, Donald Trump, and gun violence. The article was basically about how Trump uses issues, such as the incident in Chicago where Dwayne Wade's cousin was shot simply pushing her baby, in their stroller, down the sidewalk, to try and gain the African American vote in the up coming election but still shows no sign in supporting stricter gun control laws which will help keep the country safer as a whole. The meaning of this article is highly effected by the time period we are in due to the fact that the black lives matter movement and gun control laws are widely talked about and highly controversial. Before reading this article I had background knowledge of Trump, which is why this article did not come as a shock to me. Trump was quick to use a recent murder as a way to gain more African American supporters but neglected to show his sympathy for the family involved which in turn back fired on him and his intentions. The article was written not only to inform people on Donal Trump and his political views and intentions, but was meant to showcase the importance of black lives matter and gun control across the nation. This article ties back to the countless cases of unfortunate deaths that have been happening in the black community. Not all, but most of these cases are all the result of a bullet being fired for the wrong purposes.

I agree completely and feel even though this is a topic that has been talked about a lot and made very aware in our country, there are still steps that the people in power haven't made to change anything.
