Harper Jones: KKKlinton???

Summary
When Trump calls Hilary Clinton a bigot on social media, she comments on his campaign, then ties him to the KKK. On Saturday, August 27th, Trump's supporters tweeted out that Hilary's mentor was a KKK member, which Trump retweeted. @Diamondandsilk, african american supporters of Trump, confirmed this theory by telling CNN about the late West Virginia Senator Robert Byrd, who was a former KKK member. When passed in 2010, Hilary mourned him, saying that he was a true america, her friend, and mentor. Byrd regrets his years in the KKK in his autobiography. He even apologized to Barack Obama in 2005 when he was a senator.
Trump's accusations on Clinton being a bigot hasn't gone unnoticed by the media. He says that she only see's the people of color as votes, not as equals. The Democrat responds by saying that he "courted white supremacists" and "is someone who... is peddling bigotry and prejudice and paranoia." Her running mate supports this idea. Trump then tries to draw in black voters by mentioning the communities and unemployment rate. He then mentions the time when Hilary called african american youth "Super predators".  Meanwhile, Saturday was the 53rd anniversary of the March on Washington. During this time, Clinton talked about the brave men and women who marched in The March on Washington, sat, and bled for civil rights did not do it in vain. She then mentions on how high the stakes in this election were very high.

Analysis
I had prior knowledge to the campaign and how such a train wreck it is. Our two candidates are clearly playing dirty by talking about stuff that do not involve political issues, but personal. Trump calling Hilary a bigot was very childish. How is bringing their personal lives into the campaign doing anything for America? How is it changing our home? Trump calling Hilary basically a person who dislikes african americans and then asking us "what do we have to lose" because of our unemployment and crime rates, has influenced the black community and has make some think. But was it enough to make us want to vote for him? No! Right now, he is just trying to soften up his message. Hilary did a good thing at responding carefully to Trumps accusations, but she shouldn't have said anything in the first place. All in all, this campaign is the worst one's we've had in decades.    http://edition.cnn.com/2016/08/27/politics/donald-trump-hillary-clinton-kkk/index.html

  1. I agree that this use of social media is childish. Elections shouldn't be about why my opponent is bad, they should be about what I can do to better America.

  2. I personally think you should be able to insult others but you have to have some information to back up your comment. It's good to try and bash whoever you're against. It helps your own campaign.

    1. I agree, but I think that people would be better informed if politicians focused their campaigns on their own policies and not slandering their opponents. It's good to attack your opponents policy, but attacking their personal life and name-calling is just childish and makes Trump look bad.
