Which Countries Have the Best Sex Education? -Azra Zuniga P.6

This video talks about the differences in birth rates per 1,000 teens in Europe vs. the U.S. Countries like Germany and Italy only have 4 births per 1,000 teens, as opposed to the U.S.'s rank of 30 per 1,000. It is believed that because of our conservative teachings of sex ed that only highlight the BAD rather than good and bad, our openness about sex is nonexistent and sex is seen as rather taboo.

Although no one really wants to learn about sex with some random adult, it is true that our overall outlook on sex is unhealthy because we see it as something disgusting and taboo. Per 1,000,000 teens in the U.S., 30,000 will have given birth. Rather than discussing the benefits and healthy factors of sex, we are terrified which closes off communication with our parents about the subject and in turn, more teen pregnancies occur. In the 70's, counterculture occurred and sex became a more profound topic rather than being left undiscussed.
