Chicago Police Officers and a Racially Charged Photograph- Azra Zuniga P.6

In this photograph, (taken sometime in the early 2000's)  2 ex-Chicago officers are pictured with rifles holding a black man in antlers almost as if they are posing with their prey. Both officers have been charged for separate crimes, including pocketing money from arrested drug dealers and have been fired as a result. This photograph has sparked national outrage for over a decade, and has been uncovered with the recent events unfolding.

Racism is still today a very big issue. Although this photograph was taken a long time ago, it could have been taken fairly recently especially taking into consideration the amount of police brutality that has been thrusted into the limelight. No one knows anything about the black man pictured, but he appears to be unconscious. This only further proves that there are very many racist government officials working against the good of the people and taking advantage of their positions of power.

  1. I don't understand how people like this can make it so far. How do they become police men? I just find it terrible how police men and women are here I protect us, but they and up doing things like this. Terrible.
