None of this
would have been discovered without Oprah. Last week the whole nation was took
by surprise of allegations of molestation by the eldest Duggar son, Josh, to
his younger sisters. No names have been released and no action has taken place.
The Duggar’s are a conservative Christian family who star on the TLC show “19
Kids and Counting” and the reports say that their entire little town in
Arkansas knew about the molestation and no one reported it. The actions look
place in 2002 and in 2003, Josh was sent to a church camp and told to apologize
to his victims. The family told the town constable and he gave Josh a stern
talking to, nothing was ever reported until Oprah was told of the allegations
prior to them appearing on her show. Even then, no action was taken against the
family or the perpetrator even though the state laws clearly define it as
abuse.
This relates
to U.S History as law enforcement continues to turn a blind eye to whoever they
feel. It doesn’t matter what status the family holds or if the town feels it isn’t
a big deal, the action that took place in that home are wicked and disgusting
and harsher action than church camp should’ve taken place.
