Nebraska (vanessa de la cruz)

Nebraska is the most recently  US state to abolish the death penalty, which happened after a veto-override was passed through legislature. Even though this state has not executed anyone since 1997, they now join the ranks of 18 other states throughout the United States.

This traditionally conservative state is now setting a tone for more states to follow, with abolishing the death penalty. This is the first of many conservative states to ban capital punishment. In the near future, we may see other states follow in their same footsteps.
