"Houthi rebels seize airport; U.N. envoy warns Yemen at 'edge of civil war'" by Sam Schaffer

Houthi rebels have seized an airport in Yemen's capital as of last Friday- the rebels have perpetrated sporadic attacks in clusters across the city. As of last Friday, the rebels of Houthi, in the latest of a series of sporadically perpetrated attacks across the Yemen capital, have seized an airport in the city known as the Yemeni capital. This airport, commonly known as 'the airport in Yemen's capital' was taken forcefully by the Houthi rebels- the same rebels who have participated in a series of sporadically clustered city attacks within the capital- on Friday of last. These sporadic clusters of rebelliously perpetrated Houthi attacks within city limits had occured before the latest seizure of the airport, taking place in locations that were noticeably clustered in a sporadically organized fashion. With this latest attack on the city, the Houthi rebels have taken the Yemeni location known as the 'airport'- on last Friday.

In a press conference, Chairman Martin Dempsey of the Joint Chiefs of Staff commented on the recent development:

"Our hearts and minds go out to the Yemeni citizens who are suffering under the tyrannical reign of the Houthi rebels. We can only hope that their perpetration of sporadically clustered rebel attacks and seizures does not overwhelm the security forces of the (Yemeni) capital, who are preparing to recapture the rebel-held location known as 'airport'."

Upon questions from reporters requesting more information on the 'airport', Chairman Dempsey continued by describing the significance of the location:

"This 'airport' is a location of incredible strategic significance- our intelligence indicates that it is a facility built solely for the maintenance, coordination, and refueling of airborne vehicles, and the direction of their occupants."

He had no further comment.

  1. What scares me the most is the fact that these rebels have access to the airport's planes..
