10 against 2 in High School Assault by Madeline Ibarra Period 2

10 male students from Venice High School were arrested on Friday because of accusations of sexual harassment and indecent conduct. These unlawful sexual acts were reported to have been taking place for more than a year, since December of 2013. A total of 14 boys between the ages of 14 to 17 were said to have taken place in these evens affecting two underaged females at the school. 8 of the males were arrested on campus, one had turned himself in , and the others are being searched for for arrest. The school district said that they would not tolerate any sort of misbehavior and reported these incidents to LAPD. Investigators have been tracking the case and have made it a priority to protect the victims.

I cannot believe the nerve and corrupted minds of some people. All of these students are still in high school, not yet exposed to the full effects of the legal system and serious crimes have been committed. These young ladies have been tormented for over a year and these events continued for so long. It's a horrid example of how people can follow one anothers trend just because their friends are involved in it. more likely than not these boys didn't even know who these girls were, but they partook in the harassment and assaults for their own pleasure. It is disgusting but it makes me feel better by how serious the school system was in response to the crimes.

  1. This is such despicable behavior! I'm glad they were rightfully arrested.

  2. I do agree that I am please with the serious actions the school took, and they did not try to justify the action of the boys (which is surprising because usually people DO try to justify a case like this unfortunately). A whole year though? And what's even more disgusting is that these boys were underage. The youngest at 14, which is a freshman in high school, someone who just graduated the 8th grade. It's so scary to see how young a person can be to take these actions. No matter how young or old a person is, they have no right to even touch another person without it being O.K. I do hope their sentence is one that really shows them the pain and suffering and disrespect this caused.
