Education is the Key - Elisa Weich - Period 5

A new study has shown that increasing the quality of education across the board will help to improve our nation's economy. For year, we have known that children in wealthier areas have been receiving a better education because of the added tax dollars that go towards their supplies and teacher training. In a recent study by the Washington Center for Equitable Growth has shown that by investing more money in education, the revenue that the government earns from tax dollars could reach amazing heights. This research is based on the scores in the Operation for Economic Cooperation and Development, a worldwide program ranking industrial countries. If America could match Canada's ranking in this operation, then the United States' gross domestic product could increase by 10 trillion dollars by 2050, accounting for inflation of course.

For years people have fought for better funding for education. Teachers and schools are constantly applying for grants and scholarships to fund their endeavors to improve children's education. Now, there is solid research supporting government funding for education because it will benefit the whole country in the long run.

  1. i think this is great because education is very important in our country and effects how the country will run in the future, especially compared to other higher educated countries.

  2. Finally, the government is realizing that the youth and education are important and that WE are the ones who will shape the future, not them.

  3. Education is literally the solution to almost every issue one may face. Education can prevent a large majority of mistakes and errors, both individually and as a country. The saying "history repeats itself" is so accurate because we don't take the time to learn what went wrong in the past and learn for the future!
