Worst ice storm in years in Texas

Summary:
As we all know, a huge ice storm took over north Texas starting Thursday afternoon, leaving tens of thousands of people with no power. The storm spread more than a thousand miles from the southern plains to New England. The driving conditions were terrible, resulting in several deaths of drivers. There were many power outages across the country that lasted a few days. The freezing rain caused trees to snap and fall on cars and power lines, making the homes nearby to lose heat in such cold weather. Not only did the storm affect driving, but airports/flights as well. The Dallas Forth Worth airport cancelled about a thousand flights. This storm is said to be the United States' worst ice storm since 2009.

Analysis:
Friday morning I was so excited to go out in the "snow"...until I realized that "snow" was all ice...As nice as it was to have a four day weekend, I think it's about time that this ice needs to melt. It has forced people to stay in their homes for what seems like forever, and due to what some call "cabin fever" people are deciding to get out and drive, even if there is ice still on the roads. This could cause even more accidents if people aren't careful.

  2. Yes, the conditions were quite severe, however personally It doesn't seem that they were as severe as the ones posted. Anyway, lots of substantial information here.

  3. The storm was very dangerous, we all need to be careful when we're driving. I know my power went out and it was very cold outside so it was hard to leave my house - Lauren Hamm 2nd period
