NYPD literally gives the shirt off his back

A NYPD officer was walking around the East side and encountered a shivering Robert William and offered him his sweat shirt. William was sitting on the sidewalk barefoot because he had gotten his boots wet in the sub-30 degree weather and had to remove them to dry. Officer Ramos offered his sweatshirt and William initially refused, but Ramos replied "Don't worry about it."

It is so heart warming to know that there are still good people out there who will literally give someone the shirt off their back. It is so easy to say that you would, but until you are patrolling the freezing streets of Manhattan in December, your character is truly tested. We can all learn something from Officer Ramos as Christmas approaches.

  2. Aww, this type of story warms my heart. I think I would probably done the same thing. I mean, we have so much and an abundance of clothes and blankets and things. I think it is so great that people have big enough hearts to want to give what they have to help someone else.

    1. I know, but is it something you would be thinking about as you walked past him? It's just such a weird thing and an easy thing to say that you would definitely do but as soon as you're in the situation, its so different.
