Killing Sharks For Safer Surfing

Western Australia is the site of a daring Tiger Shark rescue when it was accidentally caught by a fisherman and wound up on shore moments later. Although the fish made it back to the ocean with minimal damage, there were certain people that were not too happy with having witnessed this large 12 ft. beast set free once more. The government is being pressured to set up drum lines to catch and kill large sharks that have been responsible for a few human deaths. I think it is unfair to kill the sharks simply because it means people get to surf. Humans have adapted to the land and sharks to the water, we cant simply kill them for going on instincts. Regardless though there are those who value these activities and will be damned before they let the case go.

  1. I agree, we are basically intruding their home not the other way around. Why should we have to kill them?

  2. I agree! People should not kill the sharks, even though they would be safer in the ocean without them. But that is where they live so why harm them just because of their existence?

  3. I agree! Killing sharks is inhumane. I can't imagine what it would be like if all the snarks ended up getting killed. Soon they could become extinct - Lauren Hamm 2nd period

  4. We shouldn't just kill sharks because we want to play around in THEIR home. I knew we were selfish, but how bad does it get?
