Shane Stephens, a marine veteran, hiked 222 miles to bring awareness to veteran and military suicide. He also hiked to raise awareness of teen suicide, especially that of Chistopher Linn, a Salem High School student who committed suicide in the high school bathroom on November 30, the day Stephens began the 10 day trek. He hiked 22 miles for 10 days to complete his mission.
I think that Stephen's mission of suicide awareness is important, especially that of veteran suicide awareness. I feel like people don't understand the trauma and damage that comes with war and fighting in war.
