While we were busy turning up at prom this Friday, a 22-year-old woman in Boston was busy falling down an elevator shaft at Fenway Park.

Unidentified by the authorities, the injured woman was rushed to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, suffering from serious injuries. She had inadvertently walked through the elevator shaft door on floor 4, falling onto the roof of the elevator, about 20 to 30 feet below her. Immobilized from the spill, the woman was discovered by pedestrians nearby, who immediately alerted paramedics. The paramedics didn't delay time to get a ladder, and instead used a chair to boost themselves up to a hatch to the roof.

There is no further information on the woman's condition, but I am hoping she does not end up dead…because that'd be unfortunate. Nobody deserves to die falling through an elevator shaft. It is just inane.

  1. I hope the woman is okay! It's a little concerning that she was able to just walk into an elevator shaft so I hope the police do a full investigation to find out all of the details of what happened.
